First off, I make sure my lighter is completely empty. I do this by pushing the filler valve with a small tool to release any remaining gas. You’ll know it’s empty when you no longer hear a hissing sound.
Next, I grab my can of butane. It’s crucial to use high-quality butane to ensure the best performance and longevity of the lighter.
I shake the butane can a few times. This ensures the gas is well mixed and ready for the refill.
Then, I take the butane can nozzle and push it onto the filling valve of the lighter. I hold the lighter and can upside down while doing this. The lighter should start to fill with butane.
I continue this for about 10 seconds, then I stop and let the lighter rest for a while. This is important because it lets the gas settle and the lighter to reach room temperature.
After a few minutes, I repeat the process once or twice until the lighter is full. I know it’s full when a bit of butane sprays out of the filler valve.
Finally, after everything is done, I wait for about 5 minutes before using the lighter. This allows the butane to reach room temperature, which is essential for the lighter to work properly.
